About Ride 365

What is Ride 365?

Ride 365 is the Harley Owners Group's official annual mileage challenge. The aim is simple — get out and ride as many miles as you can throughout the year. Every mile counts, whether it's a quick blast down the road or an epic cross-country adventure.

Clyde Valley HOG Chapter #9894 runs its own Ride 365 tracking system alongside the official H.O.G. scheme. This system is used by the Chapter Mileage Officer to record and verify member mileage before submitting it to the official H.O.G. Ride 365 system. It also gives members a real time view of where they stand in the chapter league table and lets us celebrate every mile we ride together as a chapter.

How Does It Work?

Getting involved is straightforward:

  1. Register — create your account using your H.O.G. membership number
  2. Register your bike — add your bike to the system so we can track your mileage
  3. Submit your odometer readings — submit your current odometer reading periodically throughout the year
  4. Watch your mileage grow — once your readings are approved they'll appear in the league table

All submissions are reviewed and approved by the Chapter Mileage Officer before they appear in the league table, so you can be confident the data is accurate.

How is Mileage Calculated?

Your mileage is calculated from your odometer readings using a simple formula:

Your Mileage = Latest Approved Reading − Oldest Approved Reading

This means your first submission acts as your opening balance — it's the starting point from which all future mileage is measured. You'll need at least two approved submissions before your mileage appears in the league table.

If you have more than one bike registered, your mileage from each bike is combined into a single total.

The Ride 365 Year

The Ride 365 challenge runs from 1st January to 31st December each year.

We encourage members to submit their odometer readings regularly throughout the year — the more frequently you submit the more accurate your mileage will be and the more up to date your position in the league table. The Mileage Officer reviews and approves every submission and transfers it to the official H.O.G. Ride 365 system on an ongoing basis.

To make sure your mileage carries over smoothly into the new year, try to submit your odometer reading on or around 31st December. This final reading of the year acts as your starting point for the following year, so as soon as you submit your next reading in January your new mileage will start showing in the league table straight away.

The League Table

The league table ranks all participating members by their total mileage for the current year. It resets at the start of each new year, giving everyone a fresh start.

The table uses the following icons to identify member types:

  • 👤 Riding member
  • 👥 Non-riding / pillion member
  • 🌸 Ladies of Harley member
  • 🦺 Road Crew member
  • 🔒 Mileage set to private

Members who have chosen to keep their mileage private will not appear in the league table for other members, but will still be able to see their own position. The Mileage Officer can see all members regardless of their privacy setting.

Privacy

When you register you can choose whether to make your mileage public or private. Public mileage is visible to all members in the league table. Private mileage is only visible to you and the Mileage Officer.

You can update your privacy preference at any time by contacting the Mileage Officer.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Ride 365

  • Submit your odometer reading regularly — the more frequently you submit the more accurate your mileage will be
  • Don't worry if your mileage doesn't appear straight away — you need at least two approved readings before your miles start counting
  • If you have more than one bike make sure you register all of them so all your miles are counted
  • Keep an eye on the league table to see how you're doing against your fellow chapter members
  • Make sure you submit your odometer reading on or around 31st December so your total mileage for the year is accurately captured before the league table resets for the new year
